SC/ST Committee

Institution had constituted an SC/ST Committee (or SC/ST Cell) to support students belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) and to address their grievances.

1. Purpose of SC/ST Committee
The committee is formed to:
Safeguard the rights and interests of SC/ST students.
Prevent discrimination or harassment on the basis of caste.
Ensure equal opportunities in academics, hostel, scholarships, and other facilities.
Address and resolve complaints from SC/ST students.

2. Functions of the SC/ST Committee
Look into complaints of discrimination or harassment. Maintain a confidential complaint register. Monitor implementation of reservation policies. Guide students about scholarships, fellowships, and welfare schemes. Conduct awareness programs and counseling for SC/ST students. Submit periodic reports to the institution head / AICTE if required.

3. Activities of the Committee
Orientation programmes for SC/ST students. Awareness on Prevention of Atrocities Act. Support for academic difficulties and mentoring. Assistance in scholarship applications.
